Community Plan
Planning For
The Future
BBFN sets in motion a Comprehensive Community Development Plan.
On August 19, members of the Boston Bar First Nation came together at the Band Longhouse to begin the process of planning for the future. Guided by planning experts, the meeting introduced the community planning and development process before moving into round-tables where members identified the most pressing needs of the community.
Not only is it a blueprint for the future, but it will guide future Band Councils in applying for capital funding to complete vital capital works; and create a more secure and better future for the next generation of BBFN band members.

Funding & Support
BBFN has applied to Indigenous Services Canada for funding support to develop a comprehensive community development plan. Over the next year, BBFN Chief and Council will be organizing a series of meetings with broad consultations with the community. Opinions will be sought from both Band members who reside on Boston Bar Reserve Lands and those members who live remotely.
Key Priorities
Education
Housing
Family Development
Health & Wellness
Economic Development

Next Steps
When consultations are complete, the findings will be compiled into a report. This report will be reviewed at a final public meeting before being submitted to the Community Development Branch of Indigenous Services Canada.
